古来、中国から伝わった十干十二支は、古くから日や年、方角に当てはめて使われ、日本人の生活には欠かせない大切な基準でした。

十二支の辰（シン）は、その本義が竜であるといわれており、水神・海神として日本の農村漁村それぞれで、大切にお祀りされてきました。

お正月が近くなり、新しい干支飾りを玄関や床の間、リビングに飾る。

そんな年の慣わしで、お正月らしさもひとしおとなります。

代々神職の家系でもある当窯の当主が、神社で使われる３寸皿をベースに製作したこの干支小皿は、

その年の干支でお屠蘇をいただいたり、毎年の干支飾りにと様々にお楽しみいただけます。

Passed down from antiquity in China, the sexagenary cycle have been applied to days, years, and directions since ancient times and were an essential and valuable standard in the lives of the Japanese.

As New Year’s approaches, we decorate the entrances, alcoves, and living rooms of our homes with the new Japanese zodiac decorations. These yearly customs bring out the feel of the New Year.

The head of this kiln, who is also of a generations-long family lineage of Shinto priests, has created these Japanese zodiac dishes based upon the 9cm plates used in shrines, and they can be used to drink sake out of every year using the dish of the corresponding zodiac sign, for yearly Japanese zodiac decorations each year, or in many other ways.
